Unable to access gateway/router settings

Just got Verizon DSL today with the Westell model 327W Versalink gateway.  I need to change settings on the gateway.  Verizon and Versalink website tell me to open browser and type in either http://192.168.1.1 or http://dslrouter.... neither works- both get me :This page cannot be displayed"..... Westell website does not have manual for this product- only an earlier version.  I need to change network name, hide SSID, enable MAC filtering.... but don'tk know how to access these settings given above?
