Problem: Moving a Catalog image to a new drive...
Moving a Catalog image to a new drive...
Hello all,
What I want to do is move my catalog images from one drive to another drive (on the same server). I found documents on how to do that using ALTPATH so I think I am ok there. My issue is I use compressed databases (option under host properties on the Master Server). I just wanted to make sure that would not be an issue moving them accross drives. If so, how do I uncompress them all first and then recompress them after?
Solution: Moving a Catalog image to a new drive...
It is recommended not to compress the drive,.but in case the drive is compressed,,when u move the catalog to a drive that is not compressed, the data will be uncompressed. You should not have any issues in moving the catalogs.
Try a test restore to verify the integrity of the operation once the catalogs have been moved.
