BLUESCREEN  is being caused by what ?

Hi Experts,

I am getting a bluescreen on occasion.  No ryhme or reason to it . It just happens. Only when I am running some sort of scan or analyzer, etc. The last message was:

    " nvstor32.sys-address-87c0D277base@87c0B000-datestamp4272d5d5 "

PC starts right up just fine after the BSOD.

The machine is/was an ACER  M1640.  Person wanted a Video card so I put one in, then found I needed to put a better PSU in because card  had minimum power requirements that original PSU could not handle.  PC has brand new memory, PSU and Video card.  Nvidia 8400GS on a Vista Home premium OS.

Computer runs well when it runs.  OS is also a fresh new installation on a brand new motherboard.,BTW.  So this PC is practically completely rebuilt by me and is really not an ACER anymore.  However this BSOD is beyond my knowledge.  That is why I am here. I think I may know the problem but I am not a real expert, so my QUESTION IS: Can anyone tell me what might be the cause of these random bluescreens?

Sorry I do not have more info to give right now, but I only took note of the last BSOD 20 mins ago.

thanks in advance.

Solution: BLUESCREEN  is being caused by what ?

When you install the new drivers from the above location, they will replace the existing old drivers with the newer version.

Nevertheless, it would be a good idea if you wrote down the "existing" driver version so we can later compare with the new version.

Windows update usually is very good at "detecting" drivers and "offering" you to update but in some cases I have noticed that the updated driver "Offered" by Windows will make a system "Blue Screen".... It is very frequent....

Since you don't remember the source of the drivers, our best shot here is to start from the most logical beginning: the motherboard's manufacturer recommended drivers.

I hope this helps.
