My PC power off by itself at random times

Hello
Yesterday my PC begins to power off randomly..Is just like a electricity cut but the rest of my electric equipment don't have this problem..I believe is my cheap PSU (Powermax 400W) because it begins to give an anoying sound from a couple of month when you power up the PC for the first time and the things like condensators in it gets nasty..I need a way to verify this before i buy new one..I played eve-online (3d mmorpg) and simultaniously stay on internet doing normal things like surfing, mail and it powered off...I choose to stay only in windows and after 30-40min it drop again. Thanks
My specs.. A64 3000+ venice, 2x512 ram dual channel kingmax, C3d X850pro, Teratec Aureon 7.1 space, MSI K8N Neo2 Platinium, windows XP pro with all stuff (autopatcher latest installed)

Solution: My PC power off by itself at random times

Most likely, as you mentioned, it's your PSU. But you should try speedfan  ( http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php )or MBM (motherboard monitor) so you can see what temperatures you're getting and the voltages (like Kcarrim suggested).
