Escape sequence setting on Proprinter II

I have a program running under dos that requires escape sequence codes from my printer manual to set up printer
for this program.  I have an IBM proprinter II and the
manual with the escape sequences.  Problem is I have never
done this and don't know how I need to put the right thing
in the places provided.

you may leave mode set to "0 0 0" if you plan to print all
outputs in draft mode.  However you must fill in all other
entries.

manual gives 8 lines per inch as (ESC 0)
             12 caracters-per-inch (ESC :)

How do I enter these codes into all the fields each _ is a
field.  Or am I totally off base here??

Oh boy!

You're into an area that is one of the reasons for Windows.

However, it CAN be done.  The biggest problem is that the DOS software usually does not explain completely how to do this.

Judging from the information you've provided, I would try to enter the numbers just as you have presented them:

Type ESC0  (that's a zero, not an o)  for the 8 lines per inch.

*usually* you can get away with 18 for the 10 characters per inch, and 15 for 10 characters per inch.  You should enter ESC: for 12.

That being said, you may find that the software wants the numbers in decimal and this really is usually the case.  If so, enter 27 for the ESC, leave a space and then enter the number.  Zero is not zero anymore, it is now 48, and the colon : is 58.

This CAN be done.  Hang in there.  Try my suggestions, let me know what the printer does.  We'll figure it out.
