Remote Access on Dell PowerEdge 2950 Server? Remote power on ?
Remote Access on Dell PowerEdge 2950 Server? Remote power on ?
I have several Dell 2850 and 2950 servers, on one of them while I was working on via remote desktop, I accidentally shut it down. I intended just to log off.
However, I can still remote desktop to my other Dell 2850 server which is on the same network as the 2950.
Is there any way to remote power on the 2950 server? I have setup the remote access card to a static IP before but when i try to ping from the 2850, it does not respond.
any solution? I'm thousands of miles away from the server now, I could make someone go power it up for me but doesn't feel like having it mess by someone who doesn't know a thing about computers.
Solution: Remote Access on Dell PowerEdge 2950 Server? Remote power on ?
I appologize, I mis-spoke. On a DRAC 5 to start the system you will need to hit the DRAC thru a telnet session and issue the following commands.
>ssh (your IP address for DRAC)
>login: (your login, default is root)
>pass: (your pass, default is calvin)
>smclp (this will start the server management command line protocol)
>start / (Computer Name)
